Saucy Chicken Wings (Whole30 Friendly)

Trying to keep things interesting around here..

Ingredients:
Wings
3 lbs of chicken wings, split
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
Pinch of rosemary
1 tsp cayenne
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Sauce
2 cups tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste (5.5 oz)
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 garlic cloved, minced
6 dates
1/2 cup hot water
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne

Method
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Mix all spices for the wings together.
3. Brush EVOO onto the wings, and then season with the spice mix. Rub the mix into the wings well.
4. Place on a baking sheet (line with foil or parchment paper if you wish) and bake for 30 mins.
5. After 30 mins, turn heat up to 450 and bake for another 20 mins. This will get the wings nice and crispy.
6. While wings are baking, mix all ingredients for the sauce together in a large pot excluding dates and hot water. Bring to a boil, and then reduce heat and let simmer for half hour.
7. Place dates in a bowl with hot water for 10 mins. After 10 mins mix the dates into the water (They should start to slowly dissolve) and then push mixture through a metal strainer into the pot and mix well.
8. Take wings out of the oven and toss in the sauce, or serve the sauce on the side as a dip!
